International Women’s Day 2026: Landmark Africa Group Celebrates Women’s Empowerment
At Landmark Africa Group, empowering women is more than a commitment, it is a core principle guiding how the organization builds businesses, nurtures leaders, and drives sustainable impact. Across the Landmark ecosystem, women are not just participants in the company’s growth story; they are entrepreneurs, executives, innovators, and decision-makers shaping its future.
This commitment is reflected both in culture and in measurable progress. Today, 40% of businesses within the Landmark ecosystem are women-owned, while 60% of executive and leadership roles are held by women. These milestones are the result of deliberate efforts to create environments where women can lead, build, and thrive.
Championing Women’s Advancement
Landmark Africa Group continues to advance opportunities for women through strategic initiatives, partnerships, and leadership development programs. Much of this work is driven by the Landmark Foundation, the organization’s social impact arm, which focuses on empowering individuals and communities through mentorship, education, and capacity development.
In celebration of International Women’s Day 2026, the Landmark Foundation hosted a special event dedicated to recognizing women’s achievements, exploring opportunities for growth, and reinforcing the organization’s commitment to women in leadership and entrepreneurship.
The event was held under the theme “Give to Gain: Accelerating Inclusion for All Women,” with a strong emphasis on mentorship and sponsorship as critical pathways for women’s professional advancement. Throughout the day, participants engaged in conversations, learning sessions, and networking opportunities designed to equip women with practical tools for success.
Insights from Women Leaders
A highlight of the event was a series of keynote sessions featuring accomplished women across business, media, and entrepreneurship.
Linda Uneze, Founder and CEO of Maurice Xanders Solutions, emphasized what she described as the “3Cs” for professional growth: competence, character, and courage. She explained that mentorship and sponsorship opportunities often emerge when individuals consistently demonstrate value and credibility.
“Value is what makes you mentorable and sponsorable. Building credibility and integrity is essential for long-term growth.”
Yvonne Alozie, Head of Business Operations at Ntel, spoke about the importance of visibility, encouraging women to actively share their stories and achievements.
“Do not be afraid to put yourself out there.”
For Theresa Emegwara, Guinness World Record holder for the longest makeup marathon, the conversation centered on relationships. She highlighted that mentorship and sponsorship are often rooted in strong, authentic professional connections and encouraged participants to intentionally build networks that support their growth.
Similarly, Rosemary Egabor Afolahan, Director of Commercial and Communications at News Central, stressed the importance of online presence and thought leadership. According to her, showcasing expertise and sharing insights publicly can open doors to unexpected opportunities.
“Do not be the beautiful girl in hiding. Showcase your value and your abilities, and sponsors will come for you.”
Across the sessions, a common message emerged: visibility, relationships, and continuous self-development are essential for women seeking mentorship and sponsorship opportunities.
Practical Conversations for Growth
Beyond the keynote sessions, the event also featured breakout discussions focused on practical aspects of professional and personal development.
One session addressed wellbeing and burnout, helping women identify the signs of workplace stress while offering strategies for maintaining balance and prioritizing mental health. Another session focused on personal finance and investments, encouraging women to take control of their financial futures through budgeting, investing, and long-term wealth-building habits.
These discussions reinforced the importance of equipping women not only with professional opportunities but also with the tools needed for sustainable success.
Launch of the Landmark Foundation Mentorship Program — Cohort 2.0
A major milestone of the event was the launch of Cohort 2.0 of the Landmark Foundation Structured Mentorship Program.
The program will provide five women with a three-month mentorship experience focused on leadership development, career planning, personal branding, and professional visibility. Participants will also gain access to experienced mentors who will guide them through structured sessions designed to accelerate their personal and professional growth.
Through initiatives like this, the Landmark Foundation continues to strengthen its mission of equipping women with the knowledge, networks, and support systems needed to succeed.
Looking Ahead
International Women’s Day 2026 served as more than a celebration at Landmark Africa Group, it was a reaffirmation of the organization’s long-term commitment to women’s empowerment and inclusion.
From supporting women-owned businesses to promoting women into leadership roles and creating mentorship opportunities, Landmark continues to invest in initiatives that help women grow and lead.
As the event concluded with networking and meaningful conversations, one message resonated strongly among participants: when women support women, progress accelerates.
At Landmark Africa Group, the commitment remains clear, to continue building platforms, partnerships, and programs that enable women to thrive, not just on International Women’s Day, but every day.
